Thomas “Tom” Earl Day, of Stevens, PA, passed away May 18, 2025.
Born August 20, 1956, in Philadelphia, PA, Tom spent his early childhood with his family on Kwajalein Island, developing his love of the beach. But it was his teenage years spent in Massachusetts that gave him his closest lifelong friends. He earned his undergraduate degree in Medical Technology from Temple University and a master’s in Clinical Microbiology from Thomas Jefferson University.
More than anything else, Tom treasured his family and his family adored him — a beloved son, nephew, brother, husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and great-uncle. Son of Robert and Shirley, brother of Robert, Barry, Rose (Dave), Patty Ann, John (Joyce), and Nancy (Gregg), husband of 38 years to Regina “Reggie" (nee DiBerardino), father to Justin (Sarah) and Meghan (Marquese), and Poppy to Gus, Laila, and Sutton.
His family and friends could always find Tom practicing his bass guitar, tinkering in his vegetable garden, reading science fiction and thriller novels, sipping a good whiskey, fishing anywhere he could, beating everyone at cribbage, or chasing around his most-prized possessions, his grandchildren. He made an impression on nearly everyone he met, and it was hard to find a person from Philadelphia to Lancaster who couldn’t say, “Oh, I know Tom Day!”
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you think of Tom when you watch the sun set over the beach, enjoy a great glass of whiskey, or yell your disappointment at the Phillies and Eagles. A visitation will be held at Saint Matthew’s church, 219 Fayette St, Conshohocken, PA 19428, on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, from 9:15am–10:30 with a funeral service immediately following. Inurnment is private.
