Edward Joseph Brennan, 90 of Fort Myers, Florida, passed away peacefully on August 9, 2025. He leaves behind a legacy of love, devotion, and family. Ed was the beloved husband of Ann (née Aiello) for 67 cherished years.


 


Ed graduated from the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science in 1957, after which, he embarked on a successful 40-year career as the owner of Sandy Hill Pharmacy in Norristown. When not working, his favorite activity was spending time with family and friends especially in Avalon, New Jersey. Upon retirement, Ed and Ann moved to Avalon and began to spend their winters in Fort Myers.  Ed was a Eucharistic minister and active volunteer of Maris Stella Church and the Avalon Lions until he moved permanently to Fort Myers in 2022. 


 


Ed was a dedicated father to Edward J Brennan Jr., MD (Wenda), Colleen Battaglini (Joe), and Maureen Kozak (Joe). He was a proud and loving grandfather to Andrew Battaglini (Tracy), Kaitlin Barra (Brett), Kristin Seo (Andrew), Ted Brennan (Pina), Skip Kozak, Brian Kozak, Meghan Brennan, and Matthew Kozak. His joy extended to his seven great-grandchildren: Collins, Jack, William, Wild, Claire, Margot and Elliot who brought light to his life. He is also survived by his two dear sisters, Kathleen McManus and Eileen Reddington.


 


Ed’s kindness, generosity and unwavering commitment to his family will be deeply missed by all who knew him. A visitation will be held on September 10th at 9am at Saint John the Baptist Church 119 Rector Street, Philadelphia followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10:30 AM.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Friends of St John the Baptist Church 146 Rector Street Philadelphia, PA 19127 in Ed’s memory.
