Annina “Anna” Santo, age 95, passed away quietly on April 22, 2026.
Born in Calabria, Italy, Anna moved to Philadelphia at age 19 after marrying her husband, Anthony Santo.
She was the daughter of Tommaso Comita and Anna Sciumbata. She was a loving mother to Connie Iovannone (Ernie), Frank Santo (Rita), Anna Ludlum (David) and Terry Jaconski (Mark). She was “Mom-Mom” to Ernest, Mark, Frank, Noelle (Oliver), Alex, Julia and Samantha (Isaac). All of her grandchildren had a special place in her heart. She was Nana to six great grandchildren which she absolutely adored. She was a loving sister (Luciano), and aunt. She was predeceased by her husband, Tony; her brother, Antonio; sisters-in-law Mary and Letizia; and brother-in-law, Lou.
Annina will be remembered for her immense generosity. She expressed her love through her cooking, hosting weekly family meals and always having something special for her great grandchildren to look forward to.
She had a great faith in God and is now rejoicing with her loved ones who passed before her. Annina touched so many lives through her constant prayer, witness, and her habit of reaching out to anyone in need.
Family and friends are invited to her viewing Thursday 9 AM and to participate in her funeral mass 11 AM at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 815 Cathedral Road, Phila. Int Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
