Sharon Renée Dever
DEVER, Sharon R., 58 - of Edina, Minnesota and Ocean City, New Jersey, passed away December 14, 2021. She died peacefully with her family by her side. Sharon Dever is survived by Donald Fleischmann and their two children John Reid Fleischmann and Kathleen Maire Fleischmann.
Sharon also is survived by her father Brigadier General James C. Dever, Jr. (USAF Ret.) and her three siblings and their spouses: Kathleen and Andy Irwin of Covington, Georgia, Karen and Tom Wright of Midlothian, Virginia, and Jim and Amy Dever of Raleigh, North Carolina.
Sharon Dever was born on October 5, 1963 in Rome, New York. Sharon was the youngest child born to a busy “Air Force family.” She was affectionately known to her family as “the Midge.” Sharon grew up moving throughout the United States and making dear friends everywhere that she lived. Before graduating from Beavercreek High School in Beavercreek, Ohio in June, 1981, Sharon had lived with her family in Rome, New York, Stratford, Connecticut, Apple Valley, California, Havertown, Pennsylvania, Rancho Cordova, California, Portsmouth, Rhode Island, Albuquerque, New Mexico, Fountain Valley, California, and Warner Robins, Georgia. Sharon attended the University of Georgia and the University of New Mexico and received her B.A. from Chestnut Hill College in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in 1985.
Sharon worked in the defense industry in California and Minnesota after graduation. In 1987, Sharon married Donald Fleischmann, and they moved to Edina, Minnesota. They were blessed with their son John Reid in 1994 and their daughter Kathleen Maire in 1996. Sharon was devoted to her children and believed that they were the greatest gift she ever received and the greatest gift that she and Don gave to the world. Sharon and her family loved spending part of each summer “at the shore” in Ocean City, New Jersey.
Sharon had a profound faith in God and was a kind and caring friend to all who knew her. Sharon leaves behind not only Don, John Reid, and Kathleen, but also a loving and extended family including her dog Louie, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends, especially Maureen Fitzpatrick Stoffere. Sharon was predeceased by her loving mother Kathleen Dever, her nephews Tristan and Ian Irwin, and Don’s parents, Al and Lee Fleischmann. We know that Sharon’s reunion with her Mom, Tristan, Ian, Al, and Lee were joyful. Consistent with Sharon’s belief in the Resurrection and our belief that Sharon remains alive in the Resurrection, Sharon’s funeral will occur on October 5, 2022 (her birthday).
A Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate Sharon’s wonderful life will be held on Wednesday, October 5, 2022, at Saint John the Baptist Church, 119 Rector Street, Philadelphia, PA, at 10:30 a.m. The church will open at 9:00 a.m. for visitation with the family. Inurnment will Immediately follow the Mass in the columbarium in the cemetery behind the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
