The Markey family and the Schwarz family were long time neighbors and great friends. Lisa was like both a sister and daughter to the Markey family. We shared life celebrations together including many sports, graduations and weddings.
Lisa and I played basketball together in 7th grade - she was such a competitor. In high school, she ran cross country and I was in awe that she would run 5 miles in the morning before school started. She had such strength and determination.
Lisa was also the girl/woman with all the style and grace. My Mom, Joy loved spending time with Lisa, talking and getting her hair done while being updated about the latest fashion. Lisa was ALWAYS there for the Markey family.
Lisa exemplified that same strength, grace, determination and competitive spirit throughout her battle with cancer.
She was a warrior who showed us all how to fight thru adversity with grace and strength.
Lisa, we love you and we will miss you!
