Samuel D. Antrim of Plymouth Meeting, Pa and formerly of Roxborough, passed away September 24, 2024 at the age of 86 peacefully at home. He is survived by his children Karen Scheier (Stephen) and Michael Antrim. He is also survived by his grandchildren Bob, Chris, Robin, Kelsey, Zachary, Marybeth and Kelly and 5 great grandchildren Dylan, Jack, Conor, Jonathan and Luciana. He was predeceased by his wife Margaret G.Antrim, son Samuel D. Antrim Jr. and his daughter in-law Anita M. Antrim.
Sam served as a Philadelphia Mounted Police officer for 37 years. He trained in one of the first classes of the Mounted Police. He very much enjoyed his job and had many stories to tell over the years. Sam enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed his nostalgic rides through his old neighborhood of Roxborough. He has been a member at the YMCA in Roxborough for many years and so enjoyed the friendships he had made over the years.
Since his wife Peg died in the middle of the pandemic, a combined memorial will be conducted. Family and friends are invited to meet with their family Saturday, 9:30am and participate in their memorial mass at 11:00 am at St. Philip Neri Church, 437 Ridge Pike Lafayette Hill Pa. Inurnment Westminster Cemetery.
